"The artist, however faithful to [their] personal vision of reality, becomes the last champion of the individual mind and sensibility against an intrusive society and an officious state."

Intimacy in the Silicon Age

Intimacy in the Silicon Age,

2024

Vitrified Porcelain

The “Intimacy in the Silicon Age” works explore the flaws and limitations of virtual sex, love, and algorithmically fabricated desire. These two pieces emulate the artifacts found in images of hands generated by AI—body horror amalgamations created by a machine attempting to replicate a tenderness it can never fully understand.

The second iteration of "Intimacy in the Silicon Age" introduces a fissure—a natural rupture in the material that threatens the integrity of the piece. The piece becomes as structurally unsound as it's source material. Training datasets become increasingly polluted with artificial content, the system feeds on itself, consuming its own regurgitations, and the facsimile of representation degrades. Forms become incoherent, details erode, and meaning is lost in a recursive cycle of misinformation.
